Thanks for stopping by! My name is Samantha, but you can call me Sam. As a former marketing consultant for some of the top consumer packaged goods (CPG) snacking brands, I learned just how deceptive marketing can be and how much junk is hiding in our food. Wanting to learn more about the relationship between our health and diet, I left Corporate America and enrolled in the Chef's Training Program at the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts. Since then, it's been my mission to help others lead healthier lifestyles.
In my newsletter, I offer pro-tips so you can be a more informed, smarter consumer. I also address important — and underdiscussed — issues, like the lack of transparency in our food industry, and how we can rally together to make change.
Outside of food activism, I work as a food photographer, stylist, and journalist for brands and publications who also value healthy living and sustainability. As a journalist, I’ve covered important topics like, "natural flavors" in our food products, the truth behind "grass-fed" beef, food stabilizers and their health risks, and the negative health impacts of seed oils. I’ve written for publications like the kitchn, CTbites, Resy, Clean Plates, and The Spruce Eats and photographed for brands like Purely Elizabeth, KIND, The Infatuation, Golden Blossom Honey, and ROE.
